Faces magazine fosters an appreciation of other cultures and traditions and encourages young readers to think from new perspectives. Photographs, original illustrations, maps, time lines, activities, recipes, and folk tales add to the reading experience. Each issue of Faces focuses on a different culture, including stories about daily life, folk tales and engaging articles that help promote understanding of and respect for other cultures. Also included are articles by well-known anthropologists and other top authors, activities, maps, games and photos that provide intellectual as well as visual stimulation. Faces magazine is used by social studies teachers, reading teachers and librarians as well as language arts teachers. Faces magazine is intended for children grades 4 to 9. |
